Educational Philosophy
I believe the work of education is, at its heart, the work of forming the whole child. Every child should be met with dignity, patience, and loving guidance, and given the opportunity to grow in independence, confidence, wonder, and virtue. I am especially drawn to Montessori education because of its deeply Catholic origins in the work of Dr. Maria Montessori, whose vision of the child was inseparable from reverence, order, and spiritual formation.
In many modern settings, I believe Montessori has drifted from those roots. To forget the Christian foundation beneath this method is to risk forgetting the deeper purpose of education itself: not merely the cultivation of skill and independence, but the formation of the person in truth, goodness, and love.
For this reason, I value learning environments that honor both authentic Montessori principles and the spiritual reality that human dignity, moral formation, and the fullest meaning of education find their source in Jesus Christ.
Writing and Public Work
Mrs. Housh is the author of All God’s Children, a forthcoming children’s book project exploring faith, identity, and the God-given dignity of the child. She also writes The Good News, a faith-informed online journal focused on children’s literature, education, family life, and culturally relevant issues. Additional essays and long-form reflections are in development.
Professional Development
Ongoing professional formation includes independent study in Montessori philosophy, early childhood development, Catholic education, and literacy-centered learning. Mrs. Housh is especially committed to deepening her understanding of child formation through continued reading, reflective writing, and preparation for further Montessori training, with particular interest in environments that unite strong pedagogy with moral and spiritual purpose.
